The service
PlugSense is an EV charging app and website focused on reliability-first charging decisions. It offers map-based charger discovery, station detail views, route planning, live presence, community check-ins, saved chargers, profile features, predictions, and optional Tesla account linking.
By using PlugSense, you agree to these Terms and the Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the service.
Accounts
- You must provide accurate account information and keep it reasonably current.
- You are responsible for activity that occurs through your account unless caused by PlugSense’s own fault.
- You must be at least 13 years old, or older if required by the laws where you live, to use account-based features.
- PlugSense may suspend or remove accounts that violate these Terms, harm other users, or threaten platform integrity.
Community content
PlugSense depends on trustworthy user contributions. When you submit check-ins, notes, or photos, you keep ownership of that content but grant PlugSense a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to host, store, reproduce, display, and distribute it as needed to operate and improve the service.
- Do not submit false or manipulated charger reports.
- Do not upload illegal, abusive, infringing, or privacy-invasive material.
- Do not impersonate other people, organizations, or charging providers.
- PlugSense may moderate or remove content that violates these Terms or undermines the service.
Tesla and third-party services
If you connect a Tesla account, you authorize PlugSense to relay Tesla OAuth requests, retrieve vehicle charging state, and send charging commands you explicitly initiate. Tesla functionality depends on Tesla systems and your Tesla account permissions.
- Third-party station data, status feeds, and Tesla functionality may change, break, or become unavailable without notice.
- Your use of Tesla, Open Charge Map, NREL, OCPI providers, Apple, Google, and other third-party services remains subject to their own terms and policies.
- PlugSense is not affiliated with or endorsed by third-party brands unless explicitly stated.
Acceptable use
- Do not scrape, crawl, or extract data from PlugSense through unauthorized automated means.
- Do not reverse engineer, interfere with, or probe the app, API, or backend infrastructure.
- Do not attempt to bypass rate limits, authentication, or security controls.
- Do not use PlugSense to manipulate rankings, reliability scores, or community trust signals.
- Do not use the service for unlawful conduct or to harm users, charging providers, or PlugSense.
Data quality, route planning, and liability limits
PlugSense provides decision support, not guarantees. Charger availability, pricing, route feasibility, best-time predictions, Tesla state, and community content may be delayed, incomplete, inaccurate, or outdated.
- Route planning relies on estimated coordinates, vehicle assumptions, and available chargers; it is not navigation advice.
- Reliability scores and predictions are heuristics based on available signals, not warranties that a charger will work or be open when you arrive.
- Use charging infrastructure at your own risk and maintain backup plans, especially for long-distance travel.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, PlugSense is not liable for indirect, incidental, consequential, or special damages arising from reliance on charger data, route plans, predictions, or third-party integrations. Any direct liability is limited to the amount you paid PlugSense in the 12 months before the claim, or $50 USD, whichever is greater.
Termination, changes, and governing rules
PlugSense may update, suspend, or discontinue features at any time. We may also revise these Terms by updating this page. Continued use after an update means you accept the revised Terms.
If a provision of these Terms is unenforceable, the remaining provisions will remain in effect. These Terms are governed by the law that applies where PlugSense is organized, without regard to conflict-of-law rules, except where local consumer law requires otherwise.
